Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lynx (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform. Lynx reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Platform Description

Lynx is a curated, trust-first marketplace that connects athletes (and their parents/guardians) with verified, manually approved coaches. Lynx facilitates discovery, communication, and scheduling between parties. Lynx is not a training provider and does not employ trainers.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 must have parental/guardian consent
  • One account per person. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts will be terminated
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. User Roles & Responsibilities

Players

Players use Lynx to find and connect with verified trainers. Players may submit training requests, browse trainer profiles, communicate with matched trainers, and book training sessions. Players agree to communicate respectfully, attend scheduled sessions, and provide honest reviews.

Trainers

Trainers apply to join Lynx and undergo a manual verification process. Approved trainers may receive connection requests, communicate with matched players, propose and manage sessions, and build their coaching profile. Trainers agree to maintain accurate credentials, provide professional service, respond to communications in a timely manner, and report any safety concerns.

Parents & Guardians

Parents/guardians of players under 18 must provide their email address during the training request process. They are responsible for supervising their child's use of the platform and approving training arrangements.

5. Trainer Verification

All trainers on Lynx are manually reviewed and verified by our team before they can appear on the platform or interact with players. Verification may include review of coaching credentials, certifications, experience, and references. Lynx reserves the right to approve, reject, or revoke trainer access at any time. Verification does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of any trainer's abilities, qualifications, or character.

6. Matching & Communication

  • Connections between players and trainers are facilitated through the platform's matching system
  • Messaging is only available between matched users, so unsolicited contact is not possible
  • All messages are subject to automated content moderation for safety
  • Lynx administrators may review flagged messages for platform safety enforcement
  • Users must not share personal contact information to circumvent the platform

7. Sessions & Bookings

  • Either party may propose a training session with date, time, location, and duration
  • Sessions must be confirmed by the receiving party before they are binding
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a session are considered late cancellations
  • Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in account review or suspension
  • Lynx is not liable for the quality, safety, or outcome of any training session
  • Sessions take place at locations agreed upon by both parties. Lynx does not provide venues
  • When the app does not take card payment for a session, the player or their parent pays the coach directly. Lynx is not a party to those payments and cannot refund them

8. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:
  • Provide false or misleading information in profiles, applications, or messages
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users in any form
  • Share inappropriate, explicit, or harmful content
  • Use the platform for purposes other than sports coaching
  • Attempt to circumvent platform safety features or moderation
  • Create multiple accounts or impersonate another person
  • Solicit personal information from minors
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the platform
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the platform

9. Content & Reviews

Users retain ownership of content they submit (messages, reviews, profile information). By submitting content, you grant Lynx a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store that content for platform operation. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine training experiences. Lynx reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these terms or our community guidelines.

10. Safety & Reporting

Lynx has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Anyone can report or block another user from that person's profile or from a conversation. Blocking someone ends any connection between you and stops them from messaging you, connecting with you or joining your sessions. Messages and questions are screened automatically, and flagged content goes to our team. We review every report within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these Terms, along with the user who posted it where warranted, through warnings, suspension or permanent removal. Users should immediately report any behavior that makes them feel unsafe.

11. Suspension & Termination

Lynx reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Engage in prohibited conduct
  • Receive multiple verified reports from other users
  • Provide fraudulent credentials or information
  • Are inactive for extended periods
Users can delete their account at any time from Settings in the app.

12. Limitation of Liability

Lynx provides a platform for connecting players and trainers. We do not:
  • Guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any trainer
  • Assume responsibility for injuries, damages, or losses during training sessions
  • Guarantee the availability of trainers in any location
  • Provide insurance for training sessions
Users acknowledge that physical training carries inherent risks and participate at their own discretion.

13. Intellectual Property

The Lynx name, logo, design, and platform software are the property of Lynx. Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Lynx intellectual property without written permission.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from use of the platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration.
